‘Star Wars’ Is Crossing over with ‘D&D’ in Two Upcoming Books From Wizards of the Coast
The new line begins with a Star Wars-specific core rulebook and Tyro Squadron: Adventures, which sends players into the Original Trilogy era.
At New York Comic Con on Friday, Wizards of the Coast revealed two upcoming sourcebooks for its D&D | Star Wars collaboration: a Core Rules book and Tyro Squadron: Adventures campaign, both scheduled for 2027 release.
Wizards of the Coast first teased this partnership in July as part of its Universes Beyond brand, marking the company's return to the Star Wars license it previously held from 2000 to 2010.
Set during the Original Trilogy, Tyro Squadron: Adventures places players in a secret Rebel crew battling the Empire, while the project uses a standalone Core Rules set rather than the standard Player's Handbook.
Renowned artists Justin Gerard and Kieran Yanner are working on the expansion, and Wizards of the Coast will share additional details at Star Wars Celebration in April 2027.
The upcoming books fill a six-year content gap for the Star Wars tabletop RPG franchise, establishing Star Wars as the second major Universes Beyond crossover following World of Warcraft.
