Fountain approves two year water rate hike
The Fountain city council on Tuesday approved a plan a year in the making to increase water rates and offset debt in the city's water enterprise. City officials say the increase, which will add 9% to the bills of most consumers on March 1 and another 9% on Jan. 1 of 2026, is necessary to bring the utility out of the red.
