William C. Pierce, 78, Brookville

William C. Pierce, age 78, of Brookville, died Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Envive Healthcare of Brookville, following a battle with lung cancer. Born November 3, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the son of the late Charles & Faye (Weber) Pierce.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, earning the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in active duty on April 16, 1968. On May 21, 1980, he and the former Mary Ellen Senefeld were united in marriage, and she survives. Bill was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars #2014 of Brookville, as well as the Order of Purple Heart.  In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, sports, and spending time with family & friends. Besides Mary Ellen, his loving wife of over 46 years, survivors include their three children, Ruth Ann (Ted) Case, Terry (Stacey) Mays, Tiffany Marshall; four children from his previous marriage; a sister, Jackie Gumbert and a brother, Jeff Rodgers; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services are being planned at this time with a date and time to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
