Genk is installing wildlife cameras to determine which animals live in the city and how they move around. The city expects to capture primarily hedgehogs and squirrels. The results should show where, for example, additional trees, shrubs, hedgehog gates, or ponds are needed.
Which animals live in Genk's nature and gardens? To better identify this, starting this month, the city will install wildlife cameras in and around Oud-Waterschei and the Stiemer Valley.
