- The FS016 wildfire measures about 4.2 square kilometres and is currently eight kilometres from Fort Simpson. N.W.T. Fire information officer Thomas Bentham noted that current wind patterns are pushing the fire away from the community.
- Airtankers and helicopters are hitting priority areas on the northern and northeast perimeter to suppress growth, though dangerous conditions prevented ground crews from working. An Incident Management Team and a Wildland Urban Interface team from Hay River are joining the response.
- Environment Canada predicts temperatures around 29 C as dry conditions persist throughout the territory. Bentham urged residents to avoid human-caused fires, warning the region remains highly vulnerable to further wildfire activity under these extreme conditions.
