Wildfire contained outside Albion

The Albion Fire Department and Whitman County Sheriff crews responded to a wildland fire Tuesday on Shawnee Road outside Pullman and Albion. Crews from District #11, District #12 and the Pullman Fire Department also responded to the scene. Residents were advised to avoid the area as crews worked to extinguish and mop the area. At least one outbuilding and a wooden train trestle were destroyed, the Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
