Sikkim currently lacks railway connectivity, which has raised concerns for residents and businesses. The Sevoke–Rangpo railway line is under construction and expected to be completed by December 2027. The challenging Himalayan terrain has contributed to significant delays and increased costs for the project. Direct railway access will provide an alternative transport option for essential supplies and tourism.
