Just one day after a UN fact-finding mission reported that there were “reasonable grounds” for the US to commit war crimes in attacks on Iranian civilians, Washington withdrew from the Human Rights Council, a decision that has once again raised the question of whether the US will accept international monitoring rules and mechanisms only as long as it is not accused.
