Price of gas in very violent decline on the Amsterdam market, reference for Europe: with the truce between Israel and Iran the future on methane with delivery in July, in collapse since the start of the session, has closed in decrease of 12% to 35.6 euros to Megawattora.
Shortly before closing, the benchmark price of the Dutch TTF gas exchange was down nearly 14% after Donald Trump announced in the early hours of the morning that a ceasefire had been reached between Iran and Israel. The easing of geopolitical tensions triggered an immediate price reaction in the market, causing a spectacular drop in natural gas prices.
In recent days, the commodity's price has been driven up by concerns about the escalation of war and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
