White House moves to quash Trump health rumours amid viral claims
White House officials said Trump was working in the Oval Office and called the hospital claims unfounded after a press lid fueled online speculation.
On Saturday, the White House denied rumors that President Donald Trump was receiving medical treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after officials announced the 79-year-old would make no further public appearances for the day.
Trump's health has remained a focus throughout his second term, and the sudden cancellation of his schedule was considered unusual, as he typically travels to Mar-a-Lago for golf on weekends.
Assistant to the President Steven Cheung issued a statement confirming Trump was working nonstop in the Oval Office, while Presidential physician Dr. Sean Barbabella confirmed the President "continues to demonstrate excellent overall health."
Officials previously attributed Trump's cosmetic patches to frequent handshaking, maintaining they are unrelated to his diagnosed chronic venous insufficiency, which Dr. Barbabella described as "benign and common" among older individuals.
At 79, Trump remains among the oldest presidents in U.S. history; his last known visit to the facility occurred in October for an MRI, which he famously described as "perfect.
