From January 1, 2026, the Prague University Hospital in Motol and the Hospital at Homolce will merge into one unit. After the police indicted the former director of Motol, Miloslav Ludvík (formerly of the ČSSD), the head of Homolka, Petr Polouček, was appointed to manage both hospitals. Health Minister Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09) told reporters on Tuesday that Polouček will also manage the merged hospitals from January, and will not hold a tender.
From January 1, 2026, Prague's University Hospital in Motol and Prague's Na Homolce Hospital will merge into one unit, announced Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09). The combined institution will be led by the current director Petr Polouček, who led Homolka and, after the police indicted the former director of Motol, Miloslav Ludvík (formerly ČSSD), took over the management of the second hospital. Válek will not announce a tender.
Health Minister Vlastimil Válek from TOP 09 will explain the current situation at the Motol hospital at a press conference together with the new director Petr Polouček. In February, police carried out an extensive raid and also arrested the previous boss and former Health Minister Miloslav Ludvík, whom they accuse of accepting large bribes.
