Youth “cigarette” smoking rates have significantly decreased leading one to believe it is a positive trend towards improving the health of children. Actually, it is simply a sign of changing norms that are demonstrating a higher use of nicotine in youth with increased risks and damage to their developing brains. No victory here to be celebrated.
