LEGO's new Smart Play sets include iconic Star Wars models with interactive lights and sounds using patented Smart Brick technology, priced between £34.99 and £89.99.
- On March 1, 2026, LEGO announced five new Star Wars Smart Play sets, including the Millennium Falcon, revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair and introduced by Anthony Daniels, actor who plays C-3PO, with pre-orders available now.
- According to LEGO, the Smart Play platform combines Smart Bricks, Smart Minifigures and Smart Tags and uses more than 20 patented technologies with sensors and speakers to produce real-time sounds and lights.
- Headlined by an 885-piece Millennium Falcon at $99.99, the wave also includes Luke's Landspeeder , AT-ST Attack on Endor , Yoda's Hut and Jedi Training , and Mos Eisley Cantina .
- However, none of the new sets includes a Smart Brick, and buyers must purchase an All-In-One set like Darth Vader's TIE Fighter, adding at least a $70 extra cost to unlock interactivity.
- Critics warned of sticker shock at the $40 entry price and urged LEGO to sell Smart Bricks and chargers separately, while analysts expect the tech may expand beyond Star Wars in coming years.
