Annual Penticton Hallo-Weenie Parade Raises Donations for Critteraid (Penticton)
Dozens of costumed dachshunds paraded for Critteraid, with awards at Yellow Dog Brewing and donations accepted at the after-party.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, the Penticton Dachshund Club hosted its 4th annual Hallo-weenie Parade, with dozens of costumed dogs marching down Lakeshore Drive in downtown Penticton.
Returning for the fourth straight year, the event serves as a lighthearted community tradition. Event organizer Connie Sahlmark said, "It's nice just to have something silly sometimes."
At the Yellow Dog-hosted after-party, organizers handed out awards for best family costume, best dressed "weenie," and best dressed "wanna be weenie." Donations supported the animal rescue mission.
Participants started at Loco Landing at 11:30 a.m., then walked their pets down Lakeshore Drive toward Yellow Dog Brewing, where the event served as a fundraiser for Critteraid, a Summerland-based animal rescue.
Event organizer Sahlmark noted a large turnout of non-dog owners who attended to watch and photograph the costumed pets, contributing to the festive atmosphere of the annual Penticton tradition.
