The storms and tides of winter have left traces on the bay of La Baule. The beaches of the seaside resort of Loire-Atlantique have suffered a particularly strong erosion this year. Over the last few weeks thousands of cubic metres of sand have been taken away. To remedy this, the city has launched a major reconstruction operation.
