Professor Emeritus Rori Murakami (Japanese Language Education) and Professor Ken Nakamoto (Ryukyuan Language) of the University of the Ryukyus have recently published "Language Culture and School Education Rooted in the Ryukyu Islands" (Sanseido, 1760 yen). Professor Nakamoto said that the book introduces examples of how the Ryukyuan language is being preserved in school education and that he hopes "many people will read it."
