Days after Waymo's vehicles — with drivers, for now — started mapping the streets of Chicago for the potential launch of a self-driving test, State Rep. Kam Buckner made the case for the state legislation he is championing that would make that possible in Illinois counties with at least 100,000 residents: Cook, Sangamon, Madison, St. Clair and Monroe.
