The bus was driving on the highway outside Jönköping with about 50 passengers when the driver fainted – with his foot on the gas pedal. The horror ended after two passengers intervened. – We all shouted “wake up, wake up” to the driver, says passenger Tilda Ivarsson Wiréhn.
The driver suddenly fell ill on the bus. Recklessly, the vehicle drove at high speed into the middle railing. – It was a horror movie. I probably didn't think it would work, says Maria Hjelte to Jönköpings-Posten, who together with another passenger managed to stop the bus.
When the bus driver suddenly lost consciousness, two of the passengers stepped forward and took over the wheel. In the clip you can see the dramatic journey that ended in the median barrier on Highway 40 outside Bottnaryd.
