In Burkina Faso, US envoy Nick Checker, head of the State Department's Bureau of African Affairs, traveled to Ouagadougou on Wednesday, March 12, for a visit aimed at revitalizing relations between Washington and the Sahel region after several years of tension. This trip is part of a regional tour. The US envoy had already visited Mali last month. A stop in Niger was also planned for Thursday, but it was ultimately canceled.
