Warning to shoppers at John Lewis, B&M, M&S, Asda and more after safety recalls
Multiple UK retailers recall products due to fire, chemical, choking, and allergy risks, with authorities urging immediate returns to protect consumers.
This year, the Office for Product Safety and Standards alerted retailers including John Lewis & Partners, Marks & Spencer, and Asda, urging returns of products sold both in-store and online.
Safety authorities cited inspections found products that do not meet Electrical Equipment Regulations 2016 and REACH Regulations 2008, including Marks & Spencer Stripe 2.5 Tog Sleeping Bag T92/4648S.
Among the flagged products are Marks & Spencer Milk Chocolate Honeycomb and Hapello Sensory Roller .
John Lewis responded by contacting around 30 customers last month, replacing impacted buttons, withdrawing the product, and ensuring remaining stock is safe, while OPSS urged returns for affected items.
OPSS has launched a campaign to raise online product-safety awareness, Local Authority Trading Standards have been informed, and Danone UK & Ireland stressed safety is its 'number one priority'.
