- After a nearly two-week search, a thermal drone detected a heat signature and United Cajun Navy volunteers found the boy's remains about 200 yards from the search start in marsh/canal near Sevres Street and Michoud lagoon.
- NOPD logs show a nearly five-hour gap in response, and Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said, `We know that we had a five-hour delay`; the department launched an internal investigation, Vasquez's parents were issued a search warrant, and DCFS opened its own inquiry with no arrests made.
- Kirkpatrick asked the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to remove nuisance alligators from the canal where Bryan was found; Louisiana hosts the largest alligator population with over 1,000 nuisance alligators removed annually.
