At the Diamond League meeting in Monaco, the 21-year-old Olympic champion from Kenya beats the quarter-century-old best mark on the non-Olympic track.
Several top results were achieved at the Diamond League stage held in Monaco on Friday, the most notable of which was Kenyan Emmanuel Wanyonyi breaking the 1000-meter world record. In addition, several competition and national records were broken, and all-time best times were achieved in several disciplines.
The Kenyan runner, Emmanuel Vanioni, set a new world record at a distance of 1,000 metres at the 10th stage of the Brilliant League in Monaco.
