The party's proposal, which has been critical of the integration of Muslim people and is often accused of Islamophobia, arises after the debate in the PS on religious freedom due to the protests of a candidate against the construction of a mosque.
The CHEGA Party, through its parliamentary group, entered Parliament this Friday, draft Law No 47/XVI/1.a, which prohibits the hidden face in public spaces, with some exceptions, and promises to close the debate on identity, security and religious freedom.
The formation recalls that, on other occasions, socialists and separatists have called for the prohibition of burka and niqab in buildings and installation.
