Voters have until Tuesday to apply for a special ballot for federal byelections
Elections Canada says more than 3,450 special ballot kits have been sent in the three ridings, with more than 2,150 already returned.
Canadians planning to vote in upcoming federal byelections have until Tuesday to apply for a special ballot, which can be completed online or in person at Elections Canada offices.
Vacancies in North Vancouver-Capilano, Chicoutimi-Le Fjord, and Beaches-East York follow resignations by Liberal Jonathan Wilkinson and Nate Erskine-Smith, plus Prime Minister Mark Carney's appointment of Conservative Richard Martel to the Senate.
Elections Canada reports that more than 3,450 special ballot kits have been distributed across the three ridings, with more than 2,150 returned by Aug 20.
More than 1,000 special ballot kits were sent to voters living outside Canada, with 152 returned; voters requesting ballots within 10 days of Aug 31 must return them in person.
All three byelections will take place on Aug 31, filling vacant seats in Parliament left by the departing members.
