Virgin reveals first glimpse of new cross-Channel service planned from 2030
The train operator previously secured an agreement with French rail group Alstom for a fleet of 12 Avelia Stream trains with customised interiors designed for cross-Channel travel.
The British ambition is to launch thirteen daily London-Paris connections by 2030, as well as four more with Brussels and three with Amsterdam.
Chief Executive Officer Josh Bayliss came to Paris this week, where he met with Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot and some journalists to show his ambitions: besides 13 daily round trips between London and Paris, which will add 4.75 million seats a year on the link, Virgin also tables four round trips a day between London and Brussels, and three between London and Amsterdam, Bayliss said.
