- Golden Globe-winning actor Ving Rhames collapsed at the Granville restaurant in North Hollywood, Calif., on Wednesday afternoon while dining with family. Paramedics responded and transported the 66-year-old to a hospital for medical evaluation.
- A representative for Rhames stated the star likely became "overheated" during the incident. The rep confirmed he sounded like himself during a subsequent phone call and remains under hospital observation.
- Rhames gained fame as Luther Stickell in the Mission: Impossible franchise and Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction. He won a Golden Globe in 1998 for his portrayal of boxing promoter Don King in HBO's 1997 TV movie Don King: Only in America.
- Away from the screen, Rhames shares two children—daughter Reign Beau Rhames and son Freedom Rhames—with his wife, Deborah Reed. He was previously married to publicist Valerie Scott from 1994 to 1999.
