VERNE is testing Chinese driverless robotaxis in Zagreb, but the project has not yet met key obligations to justify millions of euros of European money.
In this test phase, the speed of the vehicle is limited to 80 km/h, so Dr. Franjo Tuđman does not choose the bypass for the route to the Airport, but the road to Velika Gorica, where he then approaches through the area of the old airport building.
Verne (Mate Rimca company) and Chinese partner Pony.ai have launched test drives of robotic taxis without a safety operator in a vehicle on the 22-kilometer-long section between Verne's headquarters in Buzin and Franjo Tuđman Airport in Zagreb.
