The former star child, the Setoese singer Fanny Biascamano, died as a result of a long illness. Chosen to represent France at Eurovision in 1997, she had finished in 7th place.
The singer Fanny Biascamano, known as Fanny, died on Saturday 27 December 2025 at the age of 46. The Setoise had distinguished herself in the 1990s by being one of the youngest French women in Eurovision. She had then devoted herself to writing and cooking in her native region. A tribute will be paid to her in Sète on 3 January.
