Buckeye Mother Assaulted in Home Invasion Was Set up by Fiancé, Police Say
Investigators say device data linked the two men to the planned assault, and police arrested the fiancé on multiple felony charges.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, Buckeye Police arrested 23-year-old Zarian Dyer for allegedly conspiring to have his fiancée, Bella Torres, sexually assaulted by a man he met online.
The plot originated from an Oct. 16 assault at Torres's home near Southern Avenue and Miller Road, where she fought off an intruder at around 6 p.m.
Detectives identified 20-year-old Adrian Ayala as the attacker and arrested him in Goodyear the next day. Data from seized devices revealed an online agreement on Reddit between Ayala and Dyer.
Authorities arrested Dyer at his workplace near Roosevelt Street and Verrado Way on charges including aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
Carissa Planalp of the Buckeye Police Department stated the motive behind the plot remains unknown as legal proceedings against both men continue.
