The tennis champion and entrepreneur will address nearly 3,000 graduates as LMU livestreams the ceremony for remote viewers.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Loyola Marymount University will welcome tennis champion and entrepreneur Venus Williams as the keynote speaker for the 2026 undergraduate commencement ceremony.
Beginning at age 14, Venus rose to the top-ranked position, winning seven Grand Slam titles, five Wimbledon championships, and four Olympic gold medals throughout her career.
Throughout her career, Venus has been a steadfast advocate for equality; in 2006, the United Nations named her its first "Promoter of Gender Equality," and she received the Open Billie Jean King Champion of Equality Award in 2023.
Off the court, Venus founded the design firm Starr and protein company Happy Viking, while recently launching the podcast Stockton Street and releasing her wellness book, Strive, with Amistad and HarperCollins.
Nearly 3,000 undergraduate, graduate, and law students will participate in the ceremony at the Sunken Garden on the LMU Westchester campus, which will be livestreamed.
