Vehicle thefts down, reports Windsor police

Almost 80 per cent of stolen vehicles in Windsor and Amherstburg are recovered by the Windsor Police Service.Last year, police launched the Auto Theft unit with a $900,000 grant from the Ontario government.Police say the unit has made significant progress.Vehicle thefts are down 17 per cent compared to 2024 and 27 per cent compared to 2021.
