Residents evacuated as the south of France burns
Fast-moving wildfires in the southern French region of the Var have pushed many people from their homes. Over 600 firefighters have been used to try contain the blaze. It comes as temperatures surge past 40 degrees celsius, with an orange heatwave alert issued for Monday, July 20th.
The fire started on Sunday afternoon in Taradeau quickly spread to the Arcs-sur-Argens. Nearly 200 hectares burned and a dozen houses were hit.
