India added 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to the XI as they sought to exploit New Zealand’s seam-friendly conditions.
On Tuesday in Wellington, India clinched the five-match series against New Zealand by chasing down 198 runs in 13.2 overs, securing an unassailable 3-0 lead with two matches remaining.
Opening batter Abhishek Sharma and 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi built a 133-run partnership in 7.1 overs, overwhelming New Zealand's bowling attack after India elected to bowl first.
Sharma scored 113 off 38 deliveries, while Sooryavanshi added 45 off 19 balls, setting a record 118 runs during the powerplay.
India captain Shreyas Iyer praised the "exceptional" display, saying, "Getting 100 in five overs, have not seen that before at the international level."
With the series decided, the teams move to Auckland for Friday's fourth T20I before concluding the tour in Hamilton on November 1.
