A bridge in southwest Uvalde County is expected to reopen this weekend after floodwaters left it impassable less than two months ago, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Friday.

The FM 481 bridge over the Nueces River will reopen Sunday, just over a month after historic flooding washed away part of the bridge approach. TxDOT says emergency repairs were completed 37 days after work began, several weeks ahead of schedule.
