Utah Football Player, Jamal Wallace, Placed on 'Indefinite Suspension' After Alleged Rape Incident
The senior defensive lineman faces five misdemeanor counts after police said he shared sexually explicit videos with five people without consent.
University of Utah senior defensive tackle Jamal Wallace is under investigation for alleged rape and was indefinitely suspended from the football program, Utah athletics officials confirmed on Wednesday, October 21.
A woman reported to police that Wallace, her "off-and-on dating partner," forced her to engage in sex acts on October 9, alleging he recorded the incident and shared videos with five people via Snapchat.
Wallace was arrested on October 11 on five counts of "distribution of an intimate image" and released on $5,000 bail; during a police interview, he denied allegations of "forcible sodomy, rape, and distributing the intimate images."
As of Wednesday, October 21, Wallace has not been formally charged with rape or sodomy, although investigators reportedly found two sexually explicit videos on the victim's phone during the investigation.
