- The University of South Florida announced Rob Higgins as its first-ever CEO of Athletics following a comprehensive national search, with a formal introduction scheduled for September 22.
- USF created the CEO post to run athletics as a business enterprise focused on revenue, innovation and national positioning, coinciding with plans for an on-campus stadium in North Tampa seating more than 35,000 and a recent Bulls win over the Florida Gators.
