The American position on Taiwan remains unchanged, even after Chinese President Xi's visit to the US. That was stated by the American ambassador in Beijing in an interview with Fox News. "We do not support independence and we do not support coercion," said Ambassador David Perdue. When asked whether the Americans were halting their arms support to Taiwan, he furthermore replied that that was "absolutely not the case."
