When the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2022, Marco Rubio was a Florida senator and vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. He made very harsh statements: he insisted that the US must do its best to support Ukraine, called Vladimir Putin a liar and a war criminal, and mocked those who tried to negotiate with him. Three years later, Rubio became US Secretary of State — and his rhetoric changed.
