Thursday's letters: Canada smeared as U.S. drug threat
When Trump became president, he declared a national emergency at the borders of the U.S., citing fentanyl as his reason for doing so. He claimed this drug was pouring in from Canada and we needed to strengthen our border. We spent billions to tighten it up and our efforts were never enough so he imposed tariffs because we hadn't done enough to stop the flow of fentanyl.
