US removes Syria off its list of state sponsors of terrorism
The move lifts remaining terrorism-related financial and trade restrictions and could help unlock investment after nearly 14 years of war.

- Ibrahim Kochaji, a Syrian banking and economic expert, called the lifting of sanctions "a pivotal moment in the trajectory of the national economy" but said it was "not an immediate remedy" for deep struggles.
