U.S. News & World Report Announces Inaugural Winners of the 2026-2027 Home Insurance Awards
The awards are based on research of 24 insurers, 1,022 policyholders and 17,991 company features, U.S. News said.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, U.S. News & World Report announced its inaugural 2026-2027 Home Insurance Awards, identifying five leading companies to help property owners align coverage with their specific priorities.
These accolades arrive as American homeowners face shifting economic conditions, rising construction material costs, and changing climate risks that continue to influence annual premiums.
U.S. News analyzed 17,991 company and policy features from 24 insurers, surveyed 1,022 policyholders, and collected 894 NAIC data points to evaluate customer satisfaction, service features, and pricing.
Amica earned Best Overall, while State Farm secured Best for Comprehensive Coverage and Allstate took Best for Flood Coverage; Cincinnati Insurance won Best for Low Complaints, and USAA received Best for the Military Community.
Choosing the right insurer requires considering reliability alongside cost, said Catriona Kendall, licensed P&C insurance agent and insurance reporter at U.S. News, noting that awards help homeowners identify companies excelling in claims and service.
