US Congress Approves Funds For Baltics As Russia Tests NATO's Eastern Flank
The US Congress has approved $200 million in security assistance for the Baltic states as Russian activity along NATO’s eastern flank intensifies.
On Tuesday, the US Congress approved the US defense budget and foreign missions budget, which also include security assistance to the Baltic states. Congress allocates $200 million in the defense budget for the US-Baltic defense assistance program Baltic Security Initiative (BSI) and $10 million in the foreign missions budget for Estonia through the defense assistance program Foreign Military Financing (FMF).
