Heavy snow hits Urumqi in NW China's Xinjiang
From Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning, Urumqi experienced significant precipitation, with rainfall turning to heavy snow and setting a new record in daily precipitation for the city during November. Snow accumulation has exceeded 28 millimeters during the two days, meeting the standard for a heavy snowstorm, while snow depth reached 20 centimeters. At present, the snowfall in Urumqi is still continuing.
From the afternoon of November 5th to the early morning of November 6th, the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang experienced heavy snowfall, with Urumqi experiencing an exceptionally heavy snowfall. As of this morning, the snowfall has exceeded 31 millimeters, breaking the local record for the heaviest snowfall in November, with a snow depth of 21 centimeters.
