The Deputy Lokayukta has registered a suo motu complaint regarding the violations of heritage conservation rules, illegal homestays, and commercial activities taking place in Hampi. He has ordered 54 officials to submit an 'action taken report' by September 1. This is a drastic step taken to protect Hampi.
