Israeli civilian rescued from Palestinian West Bank city after suspected kidnapping
According to an initial IDF investigation, a 41-year-old woman entered the Jericho area with an Arab acquaintance, realized she was in Palestinian Authority–controlled territory and tried unsuccessfully to flee. She was then taken to an apartment in Jericho where she was assaulted, before escaping and contacting Israeli police
The civilian entered the area with an acquaintance from her workplace, realized too late that she had reached a prohibited area and fled while receiving threats. After contacting emergency services, Civil Administration officers worked with Palestinian security forces, rescued her, and handed her over to security forces.
The Palestinian security forces took her out of the city and handed her over to the Israeli security forces. • During interrogation, the woman claimed that she entered the city with a Palestinian acquaintance and when she realized she was inside the city, she tried to escape without success - and called the police.
The security establishment received a report of a suspected kidnapping of an Israeli civilian in the Jericho area. She managed to escape and call the Civil Administration - Palestinian security forces rescued her.
