United Utilities fined nearly £1m after raw sewage polluted Lancashire coast

The Environment Agency said the spills breached permit rules and forced no-bathing advice across eight designated bathing waters.

United Utilities has been fined more than £964,000 after raw sewage was discharged into the sea along the Fylde Coast for more than 35 hours.
