Ukraine is trying to move the peace negotiations beyond the dispute over the territories occupied by Russia and to achieve a broader agreement, setting out future security assurances for Kiev and Europe.
In the current situation, it is important for Ukraine to seek partnerships outside the US-Ukraine-PF negotiating triangle. At least because the two participants in the format are eager to negotiate at the price of concessions from Ukraine.
The Ukrainian negotiating team is looking for ways to expand the framework of discussing the conditions for ending the war, to shift the conversation from Moscow's narrow and unresolved territorial claims to a broader topic — the future security system of Ukraine and Europe.
