Ukraine moves to ban an Orthodox church it says is linked with pro-war Moscow church
The Ukrainian government is moving to ban a branch of the Orthodox Church that has not cut ties with Moscow, according to the government's declaration.
This arises amid Ukraine's ongoing conflict with Russia, highlighting religion's contentious role in the war.
The Ukrainian Parliament had previously banned the Russian Orthodox Church for its support of the invasion.
Viktor Yelensky, head of the DESS, mentioned that individual parishes can decide their affiliations.
