Families utilized the school holidays to visit beaches; Brighton and Hove City Council leader Bella Sankey noted residents and visitors were eager to "take advantage of the sunshine" at seafront venues.
Today, Thursday, April 9, temperatures are dropping as a band of rain moves southeast across the UK; forecasters warned of a "big change" with daytime temperatures falling to between 10C and 13C.
British Weather Services forecaster Jim Dale predicted temperatures could reach 30C+ in late spring, noting potential influences from a "Super El Niño," a rare atmospheric event warming the sea and air.
