UK sun-care company stocked in Morrisons collapses into administration after 27 years
The sun-care brand’s website now redirects shoppers after a fire halted orders and left the business unable to process sales.
On October 15, joint administrators Marco Piacquadio and Rachel Ennis of FTS Recovery Limited were appointed as Malibu Health Products collapsed into administration after 27 years in business.
The company's collapse follows a major fire at its St Albans facility around two months ago, which left the business unable to process orders, according to Business Sale Report.
Founded in 1999, the family business expanded from Hertfordshire to sell products in over 40 countries, with items stocked in major retailers including Morrisons, The Range, and Savers.
Shoppers are currently unable to purchase items directly from the Malibu Sun website, which now directs customers to Amazon or global distribution partner Pricecheck for fulfillment.
This collapse reflects broader challenges facing the UK high street this year, as retailers including River Island, Primark, and Poundland have also been forced to close stores.
